Description
This 8km running tour is packed with history, religion and modern life of Jerusalem. Beginning our tour at the city hall, runners will hear about the famous history of Jerusalem 4000 years old, which is holy for all religions. From there the running tour continues through Jaffa Gate, the famous entrance gate to Jerusalem. Runners will hear about the walls, the famous periods of Jerusalem and the people who walked through in the past.
Behold the glorious Tower of David, part of the fortress built in the second century BC to protect the city. Runners continue through the Armenian Quarter, the smallest of the four quarters of the Old City, and recall Jesus’ final journey down Via Dolorosa located just a few hundred meters to the left. The running tour then continues alongside the Jewish Quarter for a glimpse of the Western Wall, the holiest site for the Jewish nation and remnant of the Second Temple. Running through the ancient archeological City of David, we then continue towards Sultan’s Pool, built over 500 years ago.
But Jerusalem is not only the Old City and lots of history. Modern Jerusalem is vibrant, exciting and unforgettable. A city that speaks to both your spiritual and wild side hand in hand. Walk the lively streets of the city, take in the atmosphere at Machane Yehuda Market, meet both locals and tourists from all walks of life and feel the vibrations of street music all night.
