This 7km short version of the Modern Athens running tour includes a full circle of the block of Parliament and the National Garden before going straight to the Athens Stadium where the 1st Modern Olympic Games took place (1896). The flea market, the Town Hall and the modern Museum of Acropolis are included in this Tour. We check also the 3 famous buildings of the “Athenian Trilogy of Neoclassicism” which are the National Library, the 1st University of Athens and the building of the Academy of Athens.

This 7 km running tour, is the perfect introduction to modern day life in Athens and a great way of understanding the Greek culture and present day Greece.

    Best way to see Athens

I had a blast on my running tour of Athens with George this morning. Ran to Kalimarmaro stadium, Pnyko hill and through National garden. Got to see where the original Olympics were held and to run to the finish line of the Athens marathon. Definitely best way to see a city. George is a wonderful guide with deep knowledge of the city and its history. He went at my pace and made sure we stopped for photos and water. Loved this hour of running!
